My name is Serg, and I would take a camera with me to a desert island.
I can't remember a time when I wasn't carrying a camera around. In my travels and all the lives I experienced, from Antarctica to Greenland and a lot in between, I always wanted to document, find beauty and share the images I was taking with the world.
Creative Glow is a dream come true, a passion project.
Like the famous quote, this is my shot at making my life-long passion a profession.
The quote also resonates with image professionals. So often, the critical moment happens in a split second.
No matter how expensive the equipment is, the photographer's ultimate responsibility is to find the right light, the shapes, the balance, and the beauty in every shot and to be able to tell a story with an image or a film.
Some cameras can take 120 frames a second. Those will capture up to 120 facial expressions for each individual in a single second. However, those frames would be wasted if the photographer didn't point the camera to where the action is. That also applies to mobile phones and AI-enabled tools.
Modern cameras are invaluable tools to capture as many unmissable moments as possible, but a professional, engaged and sharp photographer will be able to prepare for that moment and capture it.
Good photographers first take pictures with their eyes to anticipate when the occurrence will unfold, thinking about the settings: the right lens, the correct exposure and the most pleasing composition.
Once back home, the work continues to extract the most out of those pictures, enhancing the subject and finding a coherent story between frames.
Although much theory needs to be learnt and practised, as well as mastering how to use the equipment, it is ultimately an art form, and most people can distinguish a great photograph from an ordinary one.
Learning how to take well-exposed, correct images doesn't take long. However, unlocking how to take good photographs consistently in every situation is a task that requires dedication and time.
That's why it's so important to engage with a photographer that's passionate about their trade.
